The Walk Houston

Houston, TX

KATHLEEN HUDSON

Mental illness is the most misunderstood in today's society. Approximately 20% of individuals suffer from some form of mental illness(ex. Anxiety, bipolar, depression, eating disorders, schizophrenia, substance (drugs & alcohol) abuse & addiction, ADD/ADHD). Many people think of it as a "weakness". Nothing could be further from the truth. These are true illnesses and brain diseases.  Mental illness effect no only the person but their loved ones as well.  Many people struggle with the Silent illness, and the more people that are aware the more we can help.

This will be my third year to participate in The Walk for Mental Health Awareness, please help me reach my goal.  Remember no donations are too small and all are greatly appreciated!

The Walk for Mental Health Awareness-Houston is a community based event that helps raise awareness and funding for Greater Houston area non-profit agencies and programs that provide mental health services; creating an evironment for our positive public dialog.
